Congratulations to Jessica Sipila, of Shingletown, CA (near Lassen Volcanic National Park), winner of today’s grand prize drawing for a year’s worth of groceries from Harvest Market (or $10,000 cash).
With a three-year old daughter (Emma) and a son due in a few months, “this could not have come at a better time” for Sipila, a former Mendo-Lake Credit Union employee, and her husband, a PGE gas engineer, both of whom were “born and raised in Fort Bragg,” where they lived until 2014.
“I found out about your raffle on Facebook, when [Caspar Creek parent] Amelia Wall shared it. I was excited about the chance of winning such an amazing prize, but what made me go for it was the fact that it was a supporting such a great school program near where I grew up.”
Sipila attributed a delay in getting word of her win to spotty cell service, saying it was a Facebook message from Wall the evening of the drawing that eventually reached her. “This is an absolutely amazing Memorial Day that I will truly never forget. [The prize] is going to help us so much, with a new baby on the way. I just wish we still lived there so I could enroll my kids at Caspar Creek!”
